Man commits suicide after shooting wife

RAWALPINDI:

Two young men drowned while bathing in a small dam at Fort Paharwala near the Rawat area of Rawalpindi.

They were identified as 19-year-old Saifullah and 21-year-old Muhammad Ahsan.

Rescue 1122 officials fished out the bodies and shifted them to the hospital.

A spokesman for Rescue 1122 said the dam was about 50 meters wide deep and 300 meters long.

Meanwhile, a man shot and injured his wife before committing suicide in Asifabad in Wah Cantonment. The woman was seriously injured. Rescue 1122 shifted the body and the injured to the THQ hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.

A spokesman for Rescue 1122 said that Mumtaz Ali, 47, shot his wife, Noorain, 40, over a domestic dispute. Meanwhile, a District and Sessions Court awarded a death sentence to a man involved in child abuse and murder case. The court also imposed Rs500,000 fine on the convict, Muhammad Kashif. According to the prosecution, the accused raped and killed a 10-year-old child in the limits of the Airport police station in 2021.
