PPP announces four rallies in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

As Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa braced for the second phase of the local government polls amid a country-wide charged political environment, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced on Thursday holding four rallies in the province from March 20 onwards.

The rallies will be addressed by PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto and will be held in Chitral, Upper Dir and Malakand from March 20-21 respectively, and in Kurram on March 25.

The PPP's statement came ahead of the second phase of K-P local government elections.

The announcement also came a day after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) barred Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa from attending a political rally in K-P’s Kurram district, where the premier was scheduled to address a public meeting.

District Returning Officer Karam Khushalzada issued notices to PM Imran and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan through the principal.

The electoral watchdog issued the warning in light of K-P’s upcoming local government elections.

In an earlier letter, the commission had informed the premier that he as well as other public officer-holders could not visit any area of any local council or announce any development scheme after the issuance of the election schedule.

Jesus Raza Washington USA | 2 years ago | Reply In Every Civilized Democratic Country They have Laws that Prohibits Politicians from being actively Involved in Politics if they have pending Criminal Charges in Courts and open cases in courts and also have Multiple Criminal Pending Charges yet to be heard in related to crimes committed while in Public Offices or as a politicians They are disqualified from Active Involvement in Politics until they clear those charges and pending cases against them in Courts Based on these laws from civilized Democratic countries Most of Pakistani Politicians from Opposition Political Parties will be rendered as disqualified from active Politics In Pakistan These same Politicians from Opposition have been going in and out of Jails in and actively involved in Politics and while they have Hundreds of charges and open cases in the courts and Living like Kings and queens and actively Involved in Over throwing the current Govt. in Power so They can return to ruling the country and commit heinous crimes of Looting and destroying Pakistan All These Politicians should be declared disqualified by the Election commission and the Courts and by the Govt. of Pakistan Immediately
