Two cops arrested for killing citizen in fake encounter

Family termes it a cold blooded murder

Another citizen lost his life at the hands of rogue cops in the city.

Karachi police have arrested two policemen, Tauseef-ur-Rehman and Abdul Ali, for allegedly killing a citizen, Ismail, in a fake encounter labeling him as a robber in Shafiq Colony.

Gabol Town police claimed to have killed a man named Ismail in an alleged police encounter on Monday near Lyari River turned out to be fake.

However, Ismail's family contacted senior police officials and termed it a cold blooded murder.

After investigation a case was registered against Tauseefur Rehman and Abdul Ali on the complaint of victim's uncle, Zaidi Gul. According to police, the arrested suspects Rehman and Ali were on duty at the SDPO office as driver and gunman. Ismail was on his way home from the factory when he was shot and wounded in the fake police encounter and he died on his way to the hospital.
