Eight outlaws arrested after alleged encounters

Stolen vehicles, arms, mobile phones, drugs and other valuables recovered

KARACHI:

District Central Police have arrested eight accused including six in injured condition during three alleged encounters and recovered weapons, mobile phones, drugs and motorcycles from their possession. Their accomplices managed to escape.

According to details, in the wee hours of Saturday, the Yousuf Plaza police arrested three accused Babar Ali, Faraz Ali and Salman Ali after an alleged encounter in Federal B Area and recovered three pistols, three mobile phones and two motorbikes from their possession. Police shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

SHO, Kamran Haider said that four suspicious men riding two motorbikes were roaming in Federal B Area Block 16. The police signaled them to stop but they tried to escape. Police chased them and arrested three suspects in injured condition after an exchange of fire while their accomplice managed to escape from the scene.

SHO added that the arrested accused were involved in several incidents of attempted murder and robberies. The outlaws had been arrested several times in the past.

In another encounter the Gulberg Police arrested Adnan aka Ayan, Akbar Ali, Usman and Rizwan after exchange of fire near Federal B Area Block 4 and recovered four TT pistols and two stolen motorbikes from their possession.

New Karachi Industrial Area Police arrested Faheem Ahmed aka Dollar after an alleged encounter in Khamiso Goth Sector 5F, New Karachi. A wallet with cash was recovered from his possession. Two of his accomplices Musharraf and Imran (Ammo) managed to escape.

The arrested accused was wanted in seven cases registered at New Karachi Industrial Area police station.

Car lifter held

Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police have arrested an accused and recovered four stolen cars from his possession.

According to details, the AVLC was informed about the presence of a car lifter in North Nazimabad area. Police arrested the accused Adnan alias Faizan and recovered four stolen cars from different places. According to police, the accused used to sell stolen cars in Balochistan.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing more than a dozen cars and sold them in Balochistan. He also told about his other accomplices. Police are conducting raids to arrest them.

Mishaps

Four people, including a woman, were killed in different incidents in the city.

According to details, a woman died of electric shock while working inside her house in Landhi. The deceased was identified as Kiran Anwar. Police are investigating.

A man was killed when he was hit by a train on the railway track in Malir 15 area. The deceased could not be identified. Nothing was recovered from his possession that could help identify him.

Meanwhile, a speeding trailer hit a motorcyclists on Sher Shah Bridge in which a woman and a man were killed. The driver tried to flee after the incident but area people got hold of him and handed over to the policeThe man and woman could not be immediately identified. Police are investigating.
