Opposition’s plan destined to fail, says CM Buzdar

Provincial Health Minister apprised CM of coronavirus vaccination, anti-dengue measures

LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar accused the opposition on Thursday of trying to impede development by creating political anarchy in the country

Speaking to PML-N MPA Mian Jalil Sharaqpuri who called on him, the chief minister expressed confidence that the opposition would face defeat in its no-trust move.

Any attempt to destabilise the economy was tantamount to enmity with the nation, he asserted.

The PML-N MPA reposed trust in CM Buzdar, adding that he was serving the people with sincerity while promoting a culture of political tolerance and transparency. "You have given respect to parliamentarians while ensuring solution to their problems," he added.

The chief minister reiterated that the members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) were his colleagues and he took everybody along.

He said no compromise would be made over the respect of parliamentarians.

He said the opposition was playing with fire as it was oblivious to the prevailing critical situation.

Speaking to Punjab Ministers Ashfa Riaz and Muhammad Sibtain Khan along with MPA Muhammad Abdullah Warraich, the chief minister maintained that the perpetrators of the no-confidence move did not even trust themselves and its result would unnerve the opposition.

The opposition leaders would be disappointed because the people knew the looters, he said.

The ministers said they would remain united and every PTI worker fully trusted the leadership.

The failure of the no-confidence move would be seen by everybody, Sibtain Khan said and vowed to continue to side with Chief Minister Buzdar.

Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid apprised Chief Minister Buzdar of coronavirus vaccination and anti-dengue measures.

The CM directed the health department and field staff to remain vigilant and added that dengue surveillance teams should be fully activated.

The dengue surveillance plan should be implemented diligently along with daily monitoring, he said, warning that laxity would not be tolerated.

The chief minister also said in his message on the World Kidney Day that lack of awareness about precautions was resulting in a gradual increase in diseases.
