LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has reiterated that failure of the no-confidence motion is written on the wall.

Prime Minister Imran Khan enjoys the utmost support of parliamentarians and will continue to enjoy it in future, he said while meeting several members of the National Assembly in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Buzdar underlined that the Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will complete its five-year tenure and the people of Pakistan will elect Imran Khan as Prime Minister for the next five years as well.

Those calling on the chief minister included Chief Whip Malik Amir Dogar, Makhdoom Syed Samiul Hassan Gillani, Dr Muhammad Afzal Dhandla and Ghulam Bibi Bharwana. During the meetings, matters pertaining to the rapidly changing political situation in the country, foiling the no-confidence motion of the opposition and chalking out the future line of action came under discussion.

The MNAs reportedly reposed their full trust in PM Imran Khan and Buzdar during the meetings and vowed to jointly counter the no-trust motion of the opposition.

“We are all united and would remain so in future as well,” an official statement quoted them as saying.

Chief Minister Buzdar emphasised that propaganda launched by the opposition could not create disunity in the PTI ranks.

He asserted that the opposition lacked the number of assembly members required for pursuing a no-trust motion.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was confident earlier and is brimming with confidence even today, while those moving the no-confidence motion do not trust one another, he added.

A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office also quoted him as remarking that there would be ample time for politics in the future but agitation was detrimental to national unity at this stage.

The government would firmly deal with the no-confidence stunt, he maintained and added that those who dream during the day and conspire at night always fail.

On one side, he said, there was a bunch of corrupt politicians and on the other side was a visionary and fearless leader like Prime Minister Imran Khan who could take Pakistan forward.

The government would continue to fight the corrupt mafia, the chief minister vowed.

On the directives of the chief minister, second Ehsaas Dastarkhan has been introduced to feed the poor and daily-wage earners from 7:00 am to 9:00 am daily in Multan.

Multan Deputy Commissioner Amir Karim inaugurated the public facility at the social welfare department where guests were given traditional breakfast.

The CM appreciated the step adding that feeding is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The scope of the facility would be further expanded, he added.

Buzdar has condemned the Sibi blast and expressed grief over the loss of precious human lives. He prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured and said that the Punjab government shares the grief of the bereaved families.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Information and Spokesperson to the Punjab Government Hasaan Khawar, terming the news being aired on various channels regarding CM Punjab coming forward for or against any specific person for the office of Punjab CM as baseless and fabricated, has said Sardar Usman Buzdar has full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, and every conspiracy to disintegrate the party will meet with utter failure.

While talking to media earlier at an event, Hasaan Khawar said that the differences of opinion and grievances occur not only in homes but in political parties as well.

He stated that the decision of Imran Khan to reduce the prices of electricity and fuel had clean bolded the opposition. Replying to a question, he said that we are in touch with all the people of Punjab. We want to resolve all issues amicably, and through dialogue. He further said that the foreign policy of any country should be based on the same uniformed principles, and Imran Khan's foreign policy is an independent one. He further said anti-state elements will take advantage of the political instability in the country at this time.

In response to a question regarding PPP's long march, he said that small flowers of becoming the Prime Minister are blooming in the hearts of small people, which will wither away with the passing of March. Khawar also said what people call U-turn, is called flexibility, and only he who shows flexibility in political matters can be called a truly great leader.
