Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari’s daughter Imaan Hazir-Mazari and others moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday for the dismissal of case registered against Baloch students who protested outside the National Press Club.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah will hear the petition on Monday (tomorrow), wherein home secretary, chief commissioner and Islamabad Police inspector general (IG) have been made respondents.
The petitioners also sought clarification regarding the implementation of Section 144 so that the administrators do not take unfair advantage of it.
They contended that the case against the student protesters is baseless and illegal, therefore it should be dismissed.
It should be noted here that the court has already restrained the police from making any arrests in the case.
