The Balochistan government is taking all-out measures to utilise the Rs24.5 billion Quetta Development Package in the best possible manner for the betterment of the city.
Under the package, roads are being expanded, sewerage system is being improved, street lights are being installed and footpaths constructed to restore the lost beauty of Quetta and provide better facilities to the masses.
Talking to APP, an official of Balochistan government said an amount of Rs24.542 billion had been allocated for Quetta Development Package with an aim to bring a positive change in the city’s landscape besides multiplying its beauty and resolving public issues.
The projects initiated under Quetta Development Programme included construction and rehabilitation of Sariab road, Prince Road, Sirki Road, Jinnah Road, Samungli Road, Zarghoon Road, Sabzal Road, Brewery Road, Nawan Kali Bypass, Joint Road and Western Bypass to Sariab Road, he added.
He said the government would spend an amount of Rs5,443 million for the development, clearing, aligning and reconstruction of 7.6-kilometre-long Sariab Road of the city.
