KARACHI:

A young man died after mysteriously falling from the roof top of a five-storey building in Liaquatabad's C-1 area. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.

In this regard, Supermarket SHO, Riaz said that the deceased was identified as Nabil. According to the preliminary investigation, the deceased had married to a girl, who is a resident of Sharifabad, two days ago. The girl's family had filed a kidnapping case against Nabil while the girl had also made a statement in favour of Nabil.

The SHO said that on Thursday night, Sharifabad Investigation Police reached Nabil's house on the fifth floor of the residential building to record his father's statement. Nabil was at home and he went to the roof top of the building. However, it could not be immediately confirmed whether he jumped off the building out of fear and committed suicide or he fell by accident or someone pushed him. The police were investigating from all aspects.

Meanwhile, the father of Nabil has alleged that Aamir - a police officer of Sharifabad Investigation pushed his son from the fifth floor after he visited their house. SSP Central took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry.

The father further said that his son Nabil was granted bail by a court and two days ago his son solemnised his marriage with Asiya.

"Police officer Amir demanded Rs50,000 bribe from us despite the bail was granted. When we did not pay the bribe, Amir entered our house and started threatening us. He threatened to implicate me and my son Nabil in a fake robbery case," Nabil's father said.

"Police officer Amir also breached our privacy and kept threatening to take me and my son to the police station. Meanwhile, he pushed my son from the fifth floor, as a result Nabil died," Nabil's father added.

"I want justice. I will file a case against the police officer to get him arrested," he said.

On the other hand, SSP Central Maroof Usman took notice of the incident and ordered a transparent inquiry. The SSP Central has handed over the inquiry of the incident to SP New Karachi.
