FAISALABAD:

Increased use of plastic in industrial and domestic sectors has transformed it to a full-fledged industry, which will become the second-largest sector of the economy after textile, remarked Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Atif Munir Sheikh.

Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Faisalabad Plastic Association on Friday, he underlined that plastic had replaced costly metals and it was being used to manufacture cheap industrial and domestic products for everyday use.

“We will encourage the association to enhance liaison with the FCCI for the resolution of its problems,” he maintained.

He requested office-bearers of the association to acquire membership of the chamber so that they could play their role in the mainstream trade policies.

Sheikh also apprised the meeting participants of the first-ever Pakistan Economic Conference, scheduled to be held from March 18-20 in Faisalabad.
