LAHORE:

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Monday said that his party’s options in the opposition’s expected motion of no-confidence remain open. Talking to the media after visiting the Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore, the MQM-P leader, who was accompanied by other party workers, said that they have various options when it comes to the move.

He added that they want to bring a system whereby the elite’s privilege of using power to win elections comes to an end, because this does not allow the common man to get to the corridors of power.
Siddiqui said that he has witnessed in the urban areas of Sindh that whenever someone tries to bring change through oppression, it gives rise to difficulties. He said that the negative propaganda against his party ultimately worked in their favor.

He added that their goal is not to win elections, but to win the hearts of the people by working in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Balochistan. The MQM-P convener said that inflation is a big problem in the country, and he had asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to show some seriousness on the matter.
“If the government shows some seriousness, we will stand by it,” he added.

Siddiqui said that MQM founder Altaf Hussain was released on the matter of raising slogans against Pakistan. He said that they can complain to the rulers, but cannot raise slogans against the country.
He further said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has not received mandate in Karachi for 50 years.
