In separate incident, man shot dead in Haripur

HARIPUR:

A woman’s body was found from a water tank of a house in Khalabat Town.

Police said that the body of a 30-year-old who was the wife of Samar Gul was found in a water tank in Sector No. 4.

After receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 workers reached the site and shifted the body was shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre. A case has been registered.

In a separate incident, armed men shot dead a man named Aurangzeb in Kangra area in the limits of Kot Najibullah police station. The victim belonged to Kohistan and worked as a labourer in Hairpur.

Police said that a case has been registered against Akram Khan and his unidentified accomplice on the complaint of the victim's nephew Saranzeb. They added that the motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.

Taking immediate notice of the incident, DPO Haripur Lieutenant Commander (retd) Kashif Aftab Abbasi issued orders to the police officers to arrest the culprits.

SHO Kot Najibullah, along with investigating officers and other policemen, arrested Akram Khan, a resident of Kangra during raids at different places.

Police are using all available resources to trace the other suspect. Police are looking into the case.

New tube well inaugurated

Tehsil Nazim Haripur Samiullah Khan inaugurated the boring work on a tube-well in Pakhral Chowk Sector No-2.

The project will cost Rs2.5 million. Water supply connections would be provided to every home for clean drinking water from the tube well.

Addressing a large number of people, Samiullah Khan said that he was in the field with the spirit of serving the masses without discrimination. He said after the installation of the tube well, the residents of Sector No-2 will get rid of water problems.

On the occasion, former MNA Babar Nawaz Khan announced to provide 100 kanal of land for a graveyard to the people of Khalabat.

Meanwhile, Tehsil Nazim Haripur Samiullah Khan inaugurated the installation of dustbin containers at different places in all four sectors of Khalabat.

He said that the municipal committee staff will pick up garbage from these containers daily. In the first phase, 18 containers were installed while in the second phase, more containers will be installed at other places.

The tehsil nazim has started a programme to keep Khalabat clean, under which cleaning of rainwater drains in Khalabat has also been started after a long time.
