Slain lawyer’s brother booked for murder

Ameen was nominated in case along with his son, nephew and other suspects

A brother of Advocate Amanat Ali, who was killed along with his wife and infant daughter on Sunday, has been booked in the murder case.

Muhammad Ameen was nominated in the case along with his son, nephew and other suspects by another sibling of the slain lawyer, Muhammad Saleem.

According to the FIR, Ameen was also accused of murdering his father Muhammad Rasheed in 2014 with the help of his son. Muhammad Saleem, another sibling of the deceased Amanat and the suspect Ameen, is the complainant of the FIR registered at Chung police station.

Their mother Nazeeran Bibi and the murdered woman’s brothers Saif Ali and Jamshed Ali have been mentioned as eye-witnesses in the case registered by Chung police.

The complainant said the suspects had locked Amanat’s mother Nazeen Bibi in a room after taking the family hostage at gunpoint and taped the mouths of Amanat and his wife Shabana and tied their hands.

According to the FIR, the prime suspect Ameen, his sons Raza and Shahzad, cousin Babar and three unidentified suspects had entered the Agris Town housing society on Raiwind Road at 7.14am on a car and a motorbike. According to CCTV footages, they left the gated community at 8.42am.

The suspects barged into the house, took the family hostage at gunpoint and shifted the elderly woman to the first floor.
