Educational institutions across Sindh will remain closed on Tuesday on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj, announced the provincial government.
A statement by Sindh Education Secretary Ghulam Akbar Leghari said the “in view of Shab-e-Meraj on March 1, all educational institutions in the province be closed”.

The Education Secretary added that approval for annual public holidays is fixed by the Education Department and added that the directive was also given during the recent meeting of the Sindh Steering Committee on Education, according to which all the educational institutions will remain closed on 1st March.
Earlier, the Sindh education department announced the schedule and pattern of annual examinations of primary and secondary classes as it approved the next academic calendar.
It was decided in the steering committee meeting that the examinations for 4th to 8th grades will be held from May 2 while the matriculation board exams would start from May 17 and their results would be announced on July 17.
All educational institutions will observe summer vacations from June 1 to July 31 while admissions to higher secondary schools will open from July 1 and last till July 31. The classes for the new school year would begin on August 1, as per the authorities.
