Security arrangements have been finalised for the Pakistan Australia test series scheduled to commence from March 4.

Sources said that it has been decided to seek help from the army to ensure the security of the cricket matches and the guest team. It has also been decided to limit the metro bus service as the teams will pass through Murree Road.

Under the security plan, Double Road, Allama Iqbal Park, Food Street, Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, Arts Council will remain closed during the match days.

More than 4,000 police personnel and elite commandos will be deployed at the stadium and surrounding areas.

A senior police officer said that people will not be allowed to stand on tall buildings, plazas and metro bus tracks around the stadium.

After the Lahore and Karachi tour, the one-day match between Pakistan and Australia will be played on March 29 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The Australian team will arrive in Islamabad on February 27 via a special charter flight. The practice session will begin after a day of quarantine

Under the security arrangements, box security will be provided to domestic and foreign players. The Australian team will stay in a local hotel in Islamabad.
