Cop jailed for trying to trick court

Inspector was previously posted at Banamarhi police station where he arrested the man on the charges of carrying drugs

Judicial magistrate Peshawar Hassan Khan has sentenced an inspector of Peshawar police to one month imprisonment over producing fake hasish before the court as evidence in a drug case.

Inspector Nazakat of Pharipura police station had produced stuff before the court claiming that it was hashish recovered from an accused Tila Muhammad resident of Tor Baba which was sent to laboratory for verification and the laboratory in its report confirmed that it was not hashish. The inspector was unable to explain his position in the case so the court fined him Rs15,000 and he was also handed down one month prison sentence too.

The inspector was previously posted at Banamarhi police station where he arrested the man on the charges of carrying drugs.
