Youm-i-Shahadat: Security plan for city announced

CCPO said that all majalis and processions have been directed to have a single entrance and exit.

A comprehensive strategy has been evolved by Lahore Police to ensure law and order on Hazrat Ali’s (RA) martyrdom day. This was announced by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir on Thursday.


The CCPO said that all majalis and processions have been directed to have a single entrance and exit.

He directed the organisers to remain vigilant and frisk ever visitor. He also directed them to ensure that all women visitors were also checked by women volunteers. He directed the security officials to be polite to the visitors. He also directed the officials to ensure that there is no display of arms at any majlis or procession. He requested the citizens to immediately report to the police any unclaimed item at or close to a majlis venue.

The CCPO directed the security teams to monitor the procession route and seal the roads and streets joining it. He directed that search lights be installed on the routes of the procession and roof tops to keep the area well-lit.
