COAS Gen Qamar, Uzbekistan ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan His Excellency Mr Aybek Arif Usmanov called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the officials discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and bilateral cooperation between the two countries during the meeting.
“Pakistan values its relations with Uzbekistan, particularly defence cooperation,” the ISPR quoted General Bajwa as saying.
Both parties reiterated their desire to further enhance bilateral relations including efforts for peace and security in the region.

The visiting dignitary expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and pledged to keep striving for better relations between the two countries, the ISPR added.
On February 22, Australian Chief of Defence Force (CDF) General Angus J Campbell called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed matters of mutual interest including the prevailing situation in Afghanistan.
According to the ISPR, military-to-military cooperation, overall regional security situation including the current Afghan situation and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed during the meeting.
“Pakistan values its relations with Australia,” the military’s media wing quoted Gen Qamar as saying.
