In pictures: Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar's dreamy daytime wedding

Indian actor Farhan Akhtar and singer Shibani Dandekar exchanged vows in a glamorous yet understated wedding ceremony. The lovebirds, who had been dating for four years before finally walking down the aisle, looked picture perfect on the occasion. Dressed to impress and hand in hand, images from their big day took social media by storm. 

Shibani donning a red corset lace top and matching skirt. The lace outfit was a creation of design house JADE by Monica and Karishma. “Love you guys. This dress is everything!” Shibani penned on Instagram, while referring to the designer duo.

She opted for a red net veil that draped to the floor and provided for a surreal bridal look. She kept the jewellery to a minimum and letting her outfit do the talking, pairing the getup with wavy hair falling over her shoulders.

Farhan complimented the bride’s look in a black tuxedo, featuring wide lapels and a broch. His million dollar smile was his best and only accessory. 

Farhan entered the venue to his song Sooraj Ki Baahon Mein from his film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, with the couple choosing to dance to John Legend’s romantic number All Of Me.

The groom’s father, lyricist Javed Akhtar, recited a poem in honour of the newlyweds, with musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy performing live at the event. 

As the wedding celebrations wrapped up, Farhan posted on Instagram, “A few days ago, Shibani and I celebrated our union and we are deeply grateful to all those who did respect our need for privacy on the day.

The celebration however, is incomplete without sharing some precious moments with you and seeking your blessings as we begin our journey across the skies of time, together. With love from us to you!”

Shibani posted on the photo-sharing site, “The most magical day of my life!” She then went on to call it her “dream wedding”.

The couple’s wedding was attended by Bollywood A-listers such as Hrithik Roshan and Farah Khan. The ceremony took place at Javed and Shabana Azmi’s lavish family farmhouse in Khandala in the state of Maharashtra.
