On February 9, the federal government acceded to increasing salary packages to marginally reduce the disparity between the civil and military salaries as the government had given a similar 15% pay raise to all the ranks of the armed forces in July last year over and above their special package.

On February 8, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced increasing salaries of the paramilitary forces by 15%.

Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of terrorist attacks on security camps in Naushki and Panjgur districts as well as the troops who repulsed the attempts, the premier said that the “entire nation is standing with them” and that their sacrifices and bravery would not go in vain.
