Detained man was nominated in 11 criminal cases, say police

A man nominated in several cases of robbery was injured in an encounter and arrested along with weapons by police.

He was shifted to a hospital and a fresh case was registered against him and an accomplice of his who had escaped.

According to the police report, Saddar SHO Inspector Waheed Shahid and Rashidabad check post ASI Humayun Waraich signalled the two suspects travelling on a motorcycle on Jhang Road to stop, but they opened fire and fled towards the Motor Market. The police continued their pursuit of the men, after which they left their motorcycle near Old Market and went to the rooftop of the Sheikh Market to confront them.

Police said the suspect Ali alias Ijaz, a resident of Amin Town, was shot in the leg, while his accomplice Ali Toka escaped while firing.

Jhang Bazaar SHO Asim Rasheed and his team rushed the injured man to hospital in a government vehicle.

According to the police, the injured man was nominated in 11 cases of robbery, illegal weapons, attempted murder, planning robbery and aerial firing. The cases were registered in the Jhang Bazaar and Tandlianwala city police stations. Jhang Bazaar police registered another case against the injured and escaped suspects under Sections 324, 353, 186 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code. Meanwhile, two men on a motorcycle escaped while firing after an signalled them to stop for checking during patrolling in Chak 584GB.
