Google Docs offers a variety of unique features, besides the blank white page of word processors. The add-on programs increase productivity once installed through Google Workspace Marketplace. Here are some new features that you can add to Google Docs for optimum ease and efficiency.
Writing Habit
The feature helps keep a track of the word count and also lets you set weekly and daily word count goals. The feature will give you an average of how many words you type per minute to predict how long you will be able to finish a project.
Easy Accents
The add-on feature helps remember how to type special accented characters in a different language. Easy Accents place a menu with all accented characters on the side of the screen, and by holding Shift, the letter can be capitalized.
Docs Paragraph Translate
This feature can translate any highlighted or selected text into any language. The feature will appear on the side of the screen and can be copy-pasted to your document easily.
Automagical Forms
While Google Forms is a separate application to create questionnaires, if the quiz has been created on Google Docs it can be converted into Google Forms conveniently. The Automagical Forms will scan your document and convert your questions into a quiz-like form.
MathType
This add-on feature adds a new keyboard to Google Docs, allowing you to type in mathematical symbols. The handwriting mode will help you write out the equation onto the document, which can automatically be converted into text.
Diagrams.net
The feature supports diagrams, allowing you to start from a new template or start from scratch. All diagrams drawn will be saved into Google Drive automatically.
Beep
Beep lets you record yourself speaking and playing it back without adding anything to the document. You can also save your documents to a unique URL which can be copy-pasted and shared.
