Tarin directs FBR to settle tax issues

All reservations of PPMA to be addressed on a priority basis

ISLAMABAD:

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to take all possible measures for the settlement of tax issues of the pharmaceutical industry.

In a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) on Thursday, the minister gave assurances that all reservations of PPMA would be addressed on a priority basis.

He commended the contribution of pharmaceutical manufacturers and acknowledged that the sector played a substantial role in economic development of the country, said a press release issued by the finance ministry. On the occasion, PPMA Chairman Qazi Mansoor Dilawar highlighted the problems being faced by the pharmaceutical manufacturers, particularly the concerns related to sales tax refund.
