The District Election Commission on Wednesday issued the draft list of the new delimitation of constituencies for the local government elections in Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will now consist of the areas which were formerly in the jurisdictions of the District Council, Municipal Committee Qasimabad and Municipal Committee Tandojam.
The HMC will comprise a total of nine town municipal corporations (TMCs), 160 union committees (UCs) and 640 wards. The preliminary list was issued by the convener delimitation committee of Hyderabad and the district election commissioner Muhammad Yousuf Majeedano. As per the list, the TMC Nerunkot, TMC Mian Sarfaraz and TMC Paretabad, which are based in City taluka, will have 18 UCs and 72 wards each.
In Latifabad taluka, TMC Shah Latifabad also consist of 18 UCs and 72 wards but the TMC Sachal Sarmast, due to its slightly bigger jurisdiction, will have 19 UCs and 78 wards. Qasimabad taluka based TMC Qasimabad and TMC Hussainabad will also be represented by 18 UCs and 72 wards in each corporation.
The number of UCs in TMC Tandojam in Hyderabad taluka will be 16 and that of the wards 64. The TMC Tando Fazal in the same taluka will have 17 UCs and 68 wards.
