The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has organised a week-long wall painting activity for students and other youngsters.
The aim of the initiative is to spread the message of peace and tolerance, said a press release issued on Wednesday. A large number of students from colleges and universities of the capital, including those from Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Bahria University, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) and International Islamic University (IIU) participated in the activity.
Participating students painted slogans and murals on the theme of ‘Peace and Tolerance.’ The concluding ceremony of the activity was organised at the Islamabad Model College for Girls F-10/2.
TV artist, Tousiq Haider was the chief guest, while Member (Policy) and senior officers of NACTA attended the event. A large number of teachers and students of the college were present on the occasion.
Haider also shared his views, noting that the message of peace and tolerance was delivered to the general public in an unusual manner. “There is a need to engage youth in creating awareness about extremism in the country,” he added.
