The woman, whose body was found inside an underground water tank on a vacant plot in the Mochko area two days ago, was finally identified on Sunday.
A woman's body was found inside a water tank built on a vacant plot in the area around noon on Friday. The body could not be immediately identified. She was killed by the hit of a heavy object on her head.
Police moved the body to a morgue after legal proceedings. The next day, the victim was identified as Salma alias Najma, daughter of Shah Jahan, 23. She was a resident of Muhammadi Colony, Machhar Colony.
The victim's brother Muhammad Ilyas told police that his sister had filed a case for annulment of marriage from her husband Nabi Hussain and had gone to work as usual on February 10. When she did not return in the evening, the family searched for her. He said that his mother got information from her sister's colleague, telling her that Salma had gone with her ex-husband.

The victim's brother told the police that her sister's husband and brother-in-law Bilal often threatened her. He used to pressure her to withdraw the case and threatened her.
The victim's brother said that the victim's sister told her mother that her ex-husband had been following her from the company for the past week. Therefore, legal action should be taken against the ex-husband and brother-in-law of her slain sister.
At this, the Mochko police registered case crime No. 56 of 2022 under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim's brother, Muhammad Ilyas.
The victim's ex-husband Nabi Hussain, son of Muhammad Younus and his brother Bilal, have been nominated in the case. The victim's family said that her ex-husband used to torture her and burn, prompting her to file for an annulment of marriage from the court.
The family said that the exhusband was also blackmailing Salma through an old video. The victim's family has demanded from the police and other agencies to arrest her ex-husband and brotherin-law involved in the murder and punish them severely.
Police said raids were being carried out to arrest the nominated suspects, and arrests would take place.
