Single-day Covid tally falls to 3,000

National positivity rate during past 24 hours remained 5.4%

ISLAMABAD:

The single-day tally of fresh Covid cases came down to 3,000, while the nationwide death toll stayed above 40, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said on Saturday, a day after the authorities set a record by administering 2.24 million anti-Covid jabs in a day.

The NCOC, the nerve centre of the government’s unified effort against the pandemic, said in its daily update that 3,019 people tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours, while 44 patients succumbed to the virus.

It said that the national positivity rate during the past 24 hours remained 5.4%, down from over 6% a day ago.
