Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway to be upgraded

Upgrade to accommodate increasing traffic

ISLAMABAD:

The federal government has decided to upgrade the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway from the current six lanes to eight lanes due to increasing traffic, according to documents obtained by The Express Tribune.

The Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M9) is one of the most important motorways, connecting Karachi with Hyderabad. The six-lane motorway runs for 136 kilometres, while toll is collected from the drivers under an artificial intelligence system.

The importance of the motorway is increasing because of high traffic. For that reason, the federal government was considering upgrading it. The planning and design of the upgrade was under way, according to the documents.

It is difficult to understand that in the whole world i have never ever seen a highway or motorway like Karachi Hyderabad. Motorcycles Rickshaw donkey carts even wrong way traffic on the highway or motorway is going on . i pray for Pakistanis to please follow the rules of driving on highway or motorway. Authorities are responsible to implement rit of law on every person equally like KPK and Punjab. No bribes and safety of all passengers and vehicles must be insured.

Also I request to complete karachi Sukkar motorway so we we enjoy the journey One more request from national highway authority to please take immediate notice on bridge on river Sindh near bypass between superhighway and Qasim Abad . due to heave rush of heavy trucks and trollers we are facing difficulties to cross this part and it is very risky also for small cars

Zareen khan Rind | 2 years ago | Reply Well good idea for smooth flow of traffic. However the heavy vehicles should be controlled to drive with in their limits. Otherwise the result would be same either 4 lanes or 8 lanes be constructed. Strict laws needs to be applied for law violators.
