The forensic report of Nosheen Kazmi, a medical student who was found dead in her hostel room in Larkana in November last year, has confirmed that the victim was subjected to rape.
DNA samples, collected from Kazmi and another student Nimarta Chandani – both were found hanging from the ceiling fans in their separate hostel rooms – revealed that they belonged to the same suspect.
The Sindh government had also ordered a judicial inquiry into the mysterious death of Kazmi but it could not be initiated yet.
Kazmi, a fourth year medical student of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBU), was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her hostel room with her feet almost touching a table in November last year.

The initial postmortem report of the medical student, had established asphyxiation due to hanging as the cause of her death.
"Asphyxia caused by hanging with a rope (ligature material) ante-mortem in nature and sufficient to cause the death," read the report.
The fatal injury mark was measured 26 centimetres by one centimetre from right to left side of the upper neck above thyroid.
The student's body was shifted to her hometown in Dadu district where she was laid to rest after her Namaz-e-Janaza at Muhammad Murad graveyard.
The student's father Syed Hidayatullah Kazmi, Deputy Director of Sindh Social Welfare Department, said while talking to the media that it was difficult for him to accept that his daughter took her own life.
