KASHMIR:
More than 3.4 million fake domicile certificates have been issued in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to convert Kashmiris into a minority in their homeland with the aim of changing the outcome of the UN-sponsored referendum in the occupied territory.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS in India are violating Article 49 of the Geneva Convention 4 by demographically engineering in Jammu and Kashmir through a new domicile law.
Under the law, millions of non-Kashmiris are being given domicile certificates.
In addition to demographic engineering, measures are being taken to distort the Muslim identity of Kashmir. Hindi was added to the list of official languages in the Official Language Bill 2020 as part of state policy against the people of Kashmir.
Since August 2019, IIOJK has also been subject to an undemocratic lockdown as the Modi-led government has maintained unprecedented military siege and severe restrictions on the fundamental rights and freedom of Kashmiris.

Moreover, communication interruptions are being created as Kashmiris raise their voice against India’s state-sponsored terrorism in the valley.
At least six journalists were killed, another 108 were attacked and 13 media houses were targeted in 2021 while the spotlight on the denial of media freedom continued to be on IIOJK, according to a report.
Frequently reported incidents of fake flag operations and calls for Muslim genocide also reflect the inhumane treatment of Kashmiri civilians by the Indian occupation forces.
The international community, including world leaders, members of parliament, international human rights organisations and the media, have condemned the ongoing atrocities within the region.
The world’s largest democracy has been lambasted by members of the British Parliament who have condemned Indian atrocities, calling it a conspiracy to change the outcome of a possible referendum in Kashmir.
Such atrocities, strongly opposed by Kashmiris, have created internal dissent and invigorated the call for independence.
