The body of an abducted minor girl was found at her paternal uncle's house on Friday.
The recovered body had marks of torture. Reportedly, the girl was allegedly killed and her body was dumped in a water tank on the roof of the suspect’s house.
The police officers shifted the child’s body to Nishtar Hospital for postmortem.
Two relatives, including the girl's paternal uncle, were taken into custody under the investigation process. Taking notice of the incident, IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali has sought a report from RPO Multan Javed Akbar Riaz.
A police official said that Hamna Owais, daughter of Sheikh Owais, a resident of Basti Khudadad Ward No. 6 of Cantt Police Station, was reported missing while playing outside her house on Wednesday.
The missing child’s family informed the police and shared the suspicions that the girl might have been abducted.
On Friday, the body of Hamna was found in a water tank from the house of her uncle Ali.
The official said that the condition of the girl's body indicated that she was brutally tortured before being killed. He claimed that the girl’s hands and feet were tied with ropes when she was recovered from the water tank.

The girl's body was taken into custody for legal formalities and investigations. The suspect Ali has been arrested by the police to investigate the case further.
Meanwhile, two more relatives have been arrested on the identification of the statement of the victim's relatives.
Multan CPO Khurram Shehzad Haider SSP Operations Multan Amir Khan Niazi, SP Cantt Hassan Afzal visited the crime scene.
The officers said that the investigation is going on from all angles.
The officers said that the investigation into the case is underway and the truth will only be revealed after the autopsy report.
The province has witnessed several cases where minor girls were found dead after being subjected to torture and sexual assault by their close relatives.
On December 29 2020, a seven-year-old girl was strangled to death and sexually assaulted after being murdered by her cousin and his accomplices.
Reportedly, the minor girl was found dead in a pond near her home in the Sundar area.
The victim had gone missing on Sunday and the family searched for her in the locality, including the homes of their relatives.
The suspected murderers pretended to search for the victim along with the family.
A relative of the girl said she was last seen with her cousin Rizwan Yousef and she had gone to the nearby house of a relative. Interrogation of the primary suspect revealed that he lured the victim to a deserted place after promising to give her Rs10 and also telling her that her father was calling her.
After taking her to nearby fields, the two men strangled her to death and sexually assaulted her, police officials said.
