ISLAMABAD:

The Utility Stores Corporation is expected to jack up prices of various brands of cooking oil, ghee, soap, shampoo and cold drinks.

The suggestions in this regard are being finalised, sources said.

According to sources, the prices of different brands of ghee, cooking oil, soap and other branded items will be increased.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had issued directives to keep the prices of ghee and oil from going up after it emerged in November last year that there had been a striking surge in the prices of these essential items.

The price of oil has gone up by Rs.65 per litre while the price of ghee was also increased by Rs.53 per KG. The premier took notice of the alarming surge and asked to withdraw the hike.
