Robbers snatch vehicle, valuables near Char Minar Chowrangi

Victims had stopped by for ice cream at 4:30am

Three unidentified armed suspects snatched a car worth Rs10 million and other belongings from a citizen near Char Minar Chowrangi, Bahadurabad, within the limits of New Town Police Station

Case crime No. 23 of 2022 was registered in New Town police station under sections 397 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Farhan, son of Iqbal, the owner of the vehicle.

When contacted, the victim told The Express Tribune that the car snatching incident took place around 4.30 am on Monday when he passed through Char Minar Chowrangi with his friend. Upon seeing an ice cream shop open, they stopped there for eating the ice cream. Just as they ordered ice cream, three suspects approached his vehicle on foot and snatched his car, his licensed 9mm pistol, a mobile phone worth Rs0.35 million, wristwatch worth Rs300,000, Rs12,000 in cash and other documents. The suspects also snatched his friend's mobile phone and money.

The victim said that the suspect switched off his mobile phone within half an hour. Police said the suspects had a jammer machine. The victim demanded recovery of his vehicle as soon as possible. Also demanded the arrest of the culprits involved in the incident. Police are investigating the incident.
