Security coordination meeting held for HBL PSL-7

Rangers, Army and police will secure parametres and routes leading to stadium

A vital security coordination meeting was held in the conference hall of Karachi police Speial Security Unit (SSU) headquarters regarding the seventh series of HBL/PSL matches to be played at National Stadium Karachi.

According to the Security and Emergency Services Division spokesperson the meeting disused security arrangements before the start of the event.

The meeting was chaired by Security and Emergency Services Division DIG Maqsood Ahmed. All stakeholders, including SSU Commandant Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui, East Deputy Commissioner Asif Jan, Colonel Shakarzai from Pak Army, SSP East Qamar Raza Jaskani, Rangers and PCB officials attended the meeting.

Commandant SSU Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui briefed the participants about the security arrangements. Security Division personnel including SSU Commandos, District Police, Traffic Police, Special Branch, Sindh Rangers, Army and other law enforcement personnel will perform their security duties at National Stadium Karachi, Karachi Airport, routes, hotels, practice grounds and various other areas. Expert sharpshooters will also be deployed at sensitive locations to neutralise any threat.

The DIG security pledged to provide foolproof security to the teams and spectators and directed that all resources be utilized to ensure the peaceful conduct of the event. All roads will be open to the public except one track on Sir Shah Suleiman Road.

Spectators will be transported from the parking lot to the stadium by shuttle bus service. For the convenience of the spectators, SSU commandos dressed in tracksuits will guide and assist them from parking points to the enclosures.

For the spectators coming to the National Stadium, Hakim Saeed Ground near Baitul Mukarram Masjid, University Road, and China Ground, parking points adjacent to the National Coaching Center have been allotted for VIPs.
