Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) police on Saturday arrested the notorious fugitive Shaman Solangi, resident of Dadu, Sindh who is considered the main culprit behind the medical student Ismat Jamil suicide case. He was arrested in a successful raid from Swabi.

Reportedly, the accused Shaman Solangi blackmailed the medical student Ismat Jamil to the extent that she was forced to take her own life.

After her suicide, a case was registered against the accused in Sita Road Police Station, Dadu Sindh as evidence of blackmailing emerged during initial investigation and the family also blamed that she committed suicide as she was unable to stand the constant blackmail anymore.

The accused fled the district and reached Swabi district as Sindh police was after him.

Swabi police using bold and modern style of policing rounded up the accused.

District Police Officer (DOP) Swabi said that police showed great courage and professionalism by arresting the accused. The arrest of the accused is a very important achievement of Swabi and K-P police.
