Saudi Arabia-returned woman, her children 'kidnapped' in Punjab

The family went out for shopping but mysteriously disappeared on their way home, police say

A woman, who had arrived in the country from Saudi Arabia last month, has mysteriously disappeared along with her two daughters and two sons in Punjab's Sarai Alamgir town, Express News reported.

The victim, a resident of Sarai Alamgir's remote area of Farooq Town, reportedly went for shopping along with her children but mysteriously disappeared on her way home, police said. It is being suspected that the family has been kidnapped.

The victims included two boys, 14 and six, and 13 and nine years old daughters.

As per police officials, the victim’s husband, in his statement, has said that his wife was due to leave for Saudi Arabia the very next day of the incident. A case has been registered against a suspect while investigation is under way with the help of CCTV footage, they added.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, while taking notice of the incident, has sought a report from the Gujranwala RPO.

He further said that the woman and her four children should be rescued immediately and all means should be used for their recovery.
