The police arrested a man suspected of throwing acid on his wife on Saturday.
City Police Officer (CPO) Khurram Shahzad Haider had reportedly formed a special team under the supervision of Gulgasht Division SP Hassan Jehangir to arrest the suspect.
Reportedly, the suspect Shah got married to the victim Parveen Bibi eight months ago.
The police said the suspect had suspicions about the victim. On Friday, the suspect threw acid on his wife out of resentment and managed to escape from the scene.
The police registered a case against the suspect and shifted the acid attack victim to a hospital. The area police arrested the suspect during a raid.
The province has witnessed a number of cases where woman are subjected to gender-based violence and acid attacks. On September 12, a man was arrested for throwing acid on his wife in Thikriwala.

Reportedly, a resident of Bismillah Town stated in her police complaint that she married Muhammad Nadeem in 2007 with whom she had four children.
The complainant told police that her husband used to fight with her frequently at home.
She told police that on the day of the incident, she was going out to buy medicines from a nearby medical store when the suspect Nadeem came in a rickshaw and intercepted her.
She told police that her husband Nadeem allegedly physically assaulted her in front of their neighbours and after returning home, started making false accusations against her.
The victim told police that she was beaten by her husband and then he allegedly threw acid on her, due to which she suffered severe burn injuries.
The complainant further told the police that she first informed her brothers about the incident. The victim stated that her husband Nadeem had certain suspicions on her.
Acting on the complaint, Razaabad police arrested the suspect and a case was registered against him under Section 336B of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
On June 7, a young girl, who worked as domestic help, was reportedly attacked with acid over the refusal of a marriage proposal in Johar Town, Lahore.
The 27-year-old victim, hailing from Pakpattan, had moved to Lahore for work. She had been staying in Feroziyanwala and worked a few miles away at Chungi Amar Sadu as a maid.
On the day of the incident, she was on her way to work in the Sui Gas Society in Chungi Amar Sadhu when two suspects, one of them identified as Ahmad Liaquat, a resident of Depalpur, intercepted her near Jagawar Chowk on a motorcycle.
