Singer Naseebo Lal is finally getting the recognition her talent deserves, especially after her soulful duet with Abida Parveen. Tu Jhoom, the opening song for Coke Studio 14 received praise, not just in Pakistan but from across the border as well.

Indian Punjabi singer, Daler Mehndi, had nothing but praise for the soulful composition and Naseebo’s voice. The Tunak Tunak Tun hitmaker shared a video on Instagram to dedicate and display his love for Naseebo’s vocals in the song and otherwise.

“Today I want to tell you that Naseebo Lal has made a name for herself in India and everywhere in the world where people love music. Her voice is capable of conquering every music lover’s heart,” hailed Daler, adding, “Whoever is watching this, send lots of blessings to Naseebo Lal ji.” The Zor Ka Jhatka crooner further requested the Groove Mera singer to “keep delighting music lovers with her music.”

Tu Jhoom received widespread attention and love not only for its soulful composition and unusual pairing but for Naseebo being taken on by a big music platform as well. Crossing over 10 million views on YouTube, the song became an instant hit lauded by many Pakistani celebrities and gave hopes for the revival of the music scene.

Electro-pop artist Abdullah Siddiqui, an associate producer on Coke Studio 14, called Tu Jhoom a “perfect blend of traditional sounds”. The Express Tribune’s review of the song found “Parveen and Lal engaged in a spiritual dance of harmonies.” It read, “The song has a levitating feel to it, perhaps what mystic dreams are made of. True to its name, it takes its sweet time before reaching its zenith and then disperses. Lyrically, Tu Jhoom is replete with messages of hope and allows listeners to forget their worries and forgo whatever is out of their control. Soon after the song was released, celebrities couldn't help but praise the maestros for their second-to-none vocal prowess.”
