Victim’s brother says he killed his sister on becoming suspicious of her character

Police recovered the body of a girl who had been buried in a pit after being murdered by her own father and brothers. It was none other than the brother of the murdered girl who had approached the police trying to hoodwink them by telling them that her sister had gone missing presumed to have been kidnapped.

District Police Officer Faisal Gulzar told The Express Tribune that the accused, Ali Hasnain, had approached the police telling them his sister had been missing. When police interrogated him, they began to have doubts over the version of the deceased’s brother.

On the basis of this suspiciousness, the SHO informed the DPO about the incident. The police then interrogated him in the traditional way, and the suspect gave up and told the police what had actually transpired. DPO Faisal Gulzar formed a team under the supervision of DSP Saleem Ahmed Ruth and ordered them to get to the bottom of this tragic incident.

The police managed to solve the case within 24 hours and arrested Ali Hasnain. The search for other accused was on. Ali Hasnain, the brother of the victim, confessed to his heinous act during the interrogation and said that he, along with others, had shot dead the victim “on being suspicious of her character”, buried her body in a pit and destroyed the evidence. Police recovered the body of the deceased on the identification of the accused and shifted it to the hospital for postmortem.

DPO Faisal Gulzar commended DSP of Sadar Circle, Saleem Ahmed Ruth, SHO Yasir Abbas, ASIs Muhammad Yasin and Ghulam Sabir and the entire police team. According to details, Ali Sher, a resident of Basti Tariqabad, had sent his daughter, Shakila Bibi, to live with her elder brother Zahoor Ahmed in Chak Khan. Ali Sher and his son Ali Hasnain, along with some other accused, killed Shakila Bibi and buried her in a pit near Chak Khan Muhammad.
