ISPR says during intense exchange of fire Sepoy Sarfaraz Ali embraced martyrdom in Jani Khel area

A soldier of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with the terrorists in Jani Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on Friday, the military said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists fired on the military post in Jani Khel area on the night of January 13/14 (Thursday night).

“Army troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location,” read the statement.

“During intense exchange of fire, a soldier, Sepoy Sarfaraz Ali , age 26 years, a resident of Vehari embraced shahadat [martyrdom],” it added.

Last month, a soldier of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom after terrorists fired at a military checkpost in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district.

According to the ISPR, the army troops initiated a prompt response in the Shewa area of the district, engaging the terrorists' location effectively.

"During intense exchange of fire, Naik Noor Merjan, a 32-year-old resident of Kurram, embraced Shahadat," the statement added.
