Smuggling: Drug peddler gets life term

The judge also directed the man to pay a fine of Rs100,000.

FAISALABAD: Additional sessions judge Ishtiaq Ahmad on Tuesday sentenced a drug peddler to life in prison. Custom Intelligence had caught Tanveer smuggling narcotics in a raid in 2009. The raiding team recovered six kilogramme white-poppy from his possession. The judge also directed the man to pay a fine of Rs100,000. Failure to comply would result in a six month extension in prison term.
