Shehbaz, Bilawal take decision during meeting at opposition leader’s chamber

The joint opposition on Monday decided to stage a protest demonstration outside the Parliament House on Friday against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government over the rising inflation in the country.

This was decided during a meeting held at the chamber of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, JUI-F leader Maulana Asad Mahmood and other opposition leaders attended the meeting.

Sources told The Express Tribune that the participants discussed strategy to stop the government's mini-budget from passing in the lower house of parliament.

Shehbaz urged the opposition leaders to ensure their presence during the NA session, the sources said, adding that the members declared the mini-budget ‘anti-people’, which should not be allowed to pass.

Talking about the Murree tragedy, Shehbaz said that the unfortunate incident occurred due to the incompetence and mismanagement of the government.

"There's not even a single sector where the government has not failed," Shehbaz was quoted as saying by the sources.

Later, talking to the media, the PML-N president said that the whole nation was saddened by the Murree calamity and there can be no bigger criminal negligence.
