The Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Friday, stressed for collective efforts by all segments of society to create deterrence against child molestation and other heinous crimes.
During visit to the house of the seven-year-old child who fell victim to barbaric act of child abuse in New Karachi area of the metropolis, he said, "We must play our part to prevent such crimes around us."
Sheikh, along with local PTI leaders, offered condolence to the bereaved family. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was standing with the affected family and assured them of financial and legal assistance.
Everyone should understand the pain of the victim families particularly the lawmakers who oppose legislations for capital punishment to such beasts, Sheikh said and asked "God forbid if our child was a victim, would we oppose it?"

Autopsy confirms rape
A child killed in New Karachi was subjected to sexual abuse. Police officials said an autopsy report has been received, stating that the child was molested before his murder.
Samples have also been sent to the laboratory for DNA testing. No arrests were immediately made in the incident.
A few days ago, a child's body was found from a graveyard in New Karachi, and identified as that of eight-year-old AR*. The victim has been strangled to death. The police received the autopsy report on Thursday.
New Karachi SHO Shahid Taj said that according to the postmortem, AR was molested before he was killed. The child may have been able to identify the culprit and that is the reason the police believe he was murdered.
The SHO further said that the components have also been sent to the laboratory for DNA testing.
