Covid-19 hits Bollywood yet again

Several Indian celebrities have recently contracted the virus and are isolated to fight the disease

The cases of Covid-19’s Omicron variant are rising rapidly across the world. However, it seems like many have forgotten the damage the virus has caused for the past two years and although controlled for a while in between, the danger is not over. Being oblivious and ignorant to the current infectious variant, the world is busy enjoying concerts, movies, lunches and dinner parties all over again, and Bollywood is no different.

While Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amrita Arora, Sohail Khan’s wife Seema Khan and Sanjay Kapoor's wife Maheep Kapoor have finally recovered after reportedly being infected at Karan Johar’s party, more celebrities have confirmed the news of testing positive and isolating, and for now, it seems like Covid-19 is after the Kapoors in Bollywood, or is rather spreading within the family faster than ever.

Anshula Kapoor, actor Arjun Kapoor’s sister received a rather unfortunate surprise this year for her birthday. Coincidentally, Arjun, Anshula, their cousin and film producer Rhea Kapoor and her husband Karan Bolani all tested positive for Covid-19 on the eve of Anshula’s birthday. However, Arjun’s girlfriend Malaika Arora tested negative, as per Hindustan Times.

Rhea confirmed the news on her Instagram stating that they are “isolating and taking all prescribed medications and precautions." She said she contracted the virus despite being “super careful” and called out media for being “invasive” sharing her health information as “gossip”. Although it is pertinent to mention that they have been attending parties and the Kapoor clan was last seen celebrating Christmas together, soon after Kareena’s recovery.

“Yes, I’m positive for Covid in spite of being super careful. But this is the nature of the pandemic. Not sure how anyone’s private health information is news or gossip. This information should be only for government and medical bodies so they can do their job and not on gossip sites. It’s invasive and weird," Rhea wrote on her Instagram Story.

Soon after Kareena and Amrita recovered from Covid, they were seen at a Christmas lunch party celebrating with the Kapoor family. There are reports that Arjun might have contracted the virus from the same party. However, after Kareena posted pictures from the get-together, netizens trolled her for being irresponsible yet again and not learning the lesson. “Omicron and Delta together,” wrote a user under a picture of the two posing.
