The latest trailer for Matt Reeve’s highly anticipated The Batman dropped online on Monday, and fans cannot contain their excitement over the dark, gritty and visually stunning teaser.

The third official trailer features new footage, particularly delving into the relationship between Bruce Wayne/Batman, played by Robert Pattinson, and Selina Kyle/Catwoman, played by Zoe Kravitz.

The Riddler, played by Paul Dano, is set to be the main villain of the film, with the trailer offering fresh insight into the evil mastermind’s plot to destroy Gotham. The trailer also features a face-off between Batman and Catwoman, as well as clips of the two forming an alliance and fighting off the Riddler’s army together.

The release of the trailer was met with several reactions on Twitter, with a large number of fans excited to see Kravitz and Pattison’s relationship on screen. One user wrote, “Batman [is] better than me, the Batphone would be on [Do not disturb] if Selina Kyle was Zoe Kravitz.”

Another shared a picture of Kravitz as Catwoman and stated what’s on everyone’s mind, “Batman [is] stronger than me. This look would’ve had Gotham fighting its own crime.”

On the stunning visuals, a user commented on how the film managed to create the film on a relatively limited budget, “The Batman’s budget was $100 million, which for reference is about half of what most comic book movies cost and one-third what some of them have. there is never an excuse for how cheap and bland the rest of those movies usually look.”

Another echoed the sentiment, “[It’s] crazy how The Batman only has half the budget of most superhero movies, and (from what we've seen) still looks better than most modern superhero movies.”

Several fans shared the film’s parallels with the Batman comics.

A user tweeted about the film’s nods to classic characters, writing, "The morally ambiguous detective, the sexy femme fatale, the corrupt police force and political leaders, a deranged serial killer terrorizing the rainy, neon cityscape. Bless you, Matt Reeves, Greig Fraser, Michael Giacchino and crew. This is everything I’ve ever wanted.”

The film, set to premiere in March 2022, also stars Collin Farrell, who will be playing criminal mastermind Penguin, and Andy Serkis and Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler, Alfred.
