Actor and comedian Faiza Saleem penned an elaborate and emotional, yet, very logical open letter for her husband and followers to mark "three years of the beautiful madness called marriage."

Sharing an adorable photo to recall how she met her soulmate, Saleem captioned the post explaining what love is and readers need to take notes. "We came into each other’s lives many years ago and chose to stick around through more ups and downs than we can even keep count of. Love isn’t what we see in movies or what we think it is when we’re growing up. It’s not in the mushy pictures we like on Instagram or in grand gestures, although those are great too! Truly, love is in small, everyday things."

Providing examples, the comic performer explained how love is "tip toeing around the room when the other person is sleeping, it is making them tea even after coming home from a tiring day of work. Or watching a series even though you can’t stand it just because your partner enjoys it." She added, "[love is] helping them get dressed for work on cold winter mornings when you’re not feeling well yourself," we couldn't agree more.

She also made a list of things that love isn't. "It isn't challenging one another, nor is it about losing oneself to find completeness in another. It isn't loud. It’s in the quiet moments you find yourself suddenly realising that you’re at peace with someone. Love doesn’t impose nor does it demand you to do things to show that you care. It isn’t even about the similarities, but the differences they [two individuals] learn to celebrate."

The social media sensation acknowledged that love can mean different things to different people, provided everyone has their own language of love, "as long as love is felt and nurtured, it must be valued and appreciated."

Closing her note with a reality check, Saleem assured, "Love the way you lie type drama only flies if it’s one of Rihanna’s music videos. So please, don’t marry someone just because you think you need to. If you’re being given a tough time because you’re not married right now. know this, they’ll come for something else. There will always be something that especially desi women are accountable for. Aage aap ki marzi. Thanks for reading!"

Tagging her husband Abuzer Mohsin Khalidi, Saleem went on to quip, “I obviously chose a better picture of mine since I’m selfish like that but you won’t mind too much because you’re not selfish like that.”

Last year, CNN called Saleem “a social media trailblazer,” noting how she is a ‘rarity’ in Pakistan, provided she is a ‘female comedian’. The 30-year-old founded Pakistan's first female comedy troupe, the Khawatoons, and by modeling plus-size clothes for a Karachi fashion label, she hopes to increase opportunities for women of all shapes and sizes. “Freed from the conventions of Pakistan's mainstream media, the former lawyer uses her platform to promote a message of body positivity and overturn stereotypical depictions of women,” the outlet added.
