Arts council celebrates Quaid’s anniversary

Struggle for Pakistan highlighted at event held on eve of occasion

Lahore Arts Council hosted an event on eve of the 145th birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to mark the occasion.

Provincial Information Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar was the chief guest of the occasion, who cut a cake along with senior artist Masood Akhtar and Alhamra Centre Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi.

The art centre also organsied a portrait painting competition in connection with the anniversary celebrations.

The secretary said on the occasion that it was a day of happiness for the entire nation. He said, “The Quaid day reminds us of our determination to dedicate ourselves to our country's service”. Anwar also highlighted the historic struggle of the Father of the Nation in Pakistan's establishment.

Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said the Quaid's life is an example for all citizens. “He showed us how to exhibit the traits of truthfulness and character.” He said the Quaid-i-Azam is the true exemplary leader in the national history.

The event was attended by Deputy Directors Aftab Ahmed Ansari, Muhammad Arif and Subha Sadiq along with other officers.
