Rawalpindi City Police Officer Sajid Kayani on Friday laid the foundation stone of the new building at the Kallar Syedan Police Station.
The 30-marla double-storey building will be constructed at a cost of Rs86 million. The project will be completed in 18 months.
A new building is being constructed on a park named after Inspector Raja Saqlain Shaheed on the premises of Kallar Syedan Police Station.
SDO buildings Zeeshan Ali, contractor Chaudhry Javed and sub-engineer Muhammad Munir briefed the CPO regarding the construction of the building.
The CPO directed the officials concerned to complete the project on time and do not use any low-quality material in the construction of the building.
Later, the CPO inspected the old building which was built in 1861. The roofs of the building were in a dilapidated condition. He directed to conduct an immediate auction of hundreds of unclaimed motorcycles parked inside the police station.
