Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Gyan Chand Israni called on Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah at his office and discussed security of religious places of worship for the minority community.
Israni said the Sindh government had planned to set up a separate police security force for places of worship and to install CCTV cameras at the places of worship. Those which are in different stages should be expedited and orders should be issued to the concerned departments in this regard.
The provincial minister said that unfortunate incidents occur at religious places of worship and in order to prevent this, implementation of the aforesaid important projects should be ensured.
The provincial minister said that special orders should also be issued to the divisional commissioners and district administrations to make proper security arrangements at the places of worship of the minority community.
During the meeting, the provincial minister also apprised about the development projects of his constituency Thana Bola Khan and the shortage of staff in schools and hospitals and said that orders should be issued to the concerned departments for their solution.
On the occasion, Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that instructions would be issued to the Divisional Commissioners and District Administration to formulate a better security plan for the protection of places of worship of the minority community. The establishment of security force and the implementation of CCTV camera plans will be expedited.
The chief secretary said that the police, Rangers and security agencies have given immediate response to the tragic incident of Narainpura temple and arrested the suspect involved and he will be brought to justice.
