‘Killers of Sri Lankan man in Sialkot to be punished’

Punjab Police and Public Prosecution Department have been directed to submit a flawless challan within 30 days

Punjab Law Minister Basharat Raja has reiterated that those responsible for the Sialkot lynching would get strict punishment under the laws.

Punjab Police and Public Prosecution Department have been directed to submit a flawless challan within 30 days, he said during the meeting.

The government is committed to setting an example so that no one would dare to commit such an act in future.

The provincial minister made the remarks during a meeting with US Consul General William Macnoele who called on him at the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday.

Basharat Raja highlighted that the Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had enacted record legislation across the country.

The minister also briefed the US diplomat about the legislation process and performance of the government.

The United States consul general said steps taken by the Punjab government to eradicate terrorism and extremism were commendable.

He said the law enforcing agencies of the country were also doing laudable work to curb extremism.
